Why Here?
In 2004 we bought property on the adjacent mountain with the hopes of building our retirement home. We have come up every year since, sometimes twice a year because we loved the area so much. Living in Florida, our kids never saw the snow; however the location of this property provided a mild climate, while still allowing us to drive only thirty minutes up the road to enjoy the ski slopes of Ski Beech and Sugar Mountain. Our children experienced their first caving experience at the Linville Caverns just two miles up the road and we all experienced our first zip lining adventure thirty minutes away. In 2012, the owners of this log home put the property up for sale while we were renting. We immediately made an offer and bought the home. We bought the home for two reasons, first as a retreat we could call our own and as an investment with the intent to still build on our land in Oconee Falls once we retire. Hopefully you and your family will enjoy our second home as much as we have.
Located in the Linville Mountains just 30 miles south of Boone, NC and 25 miles southeast of the ski slopes of Banner Elk is our 4 bedroom 3 bath log mountain home. This mountain home features four bedrooms with 1 King bed, 2 queen beds and the fourth with 2 twin beds. This mountain home will sleep 8 comfortably. Other amenities include a full kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and small appliances to meet all your cooking needs. The great room features 30’ vaulted ceilings, a fireplace and TV/DVD.
Relax on our wrap around deck with views of the valley below or cook on the gas grill and enjoy dinner on the deck or the dining room.
The down stairs game room features a full size pool table and card table.
The area features snow skiing and tubing in the winter and fishing, hiking, white water rafting and zip lining during the rest of the year.
